Washington reports the US government seeks a Russian-led alliance to send troops to Russia after July 4. A million Americans reportedly head to Europe as troop ships slow to Europe, easing supplies to Russia. Officials aim to avoid Japanese leadership while praising Russia as a friendly partner and envision a limited but effective expedition with Allied forces.
Washington dispatch reports 188 casualties with 19 killed and 169 wounded. Names include Daniel Hahoney of Chewelah and John Cilberteen of Climkan ie Oregon. severely wounded are Blwyor Curtly of Seattle Gay Reed Albert Wastes and Med ard Zoinigr of Portland.
