Killian went to Pendleton Tuesday for Sisters school entertainment. Prudy accompanied her home Wednesday evening. Emma Green’s Vansycle school closed Friday with about 60 present and a nice basket dinner.
Salem June 10 Harry Tracy and David Merrill escaped from the state penitentiary yesterday after killing three guards and wounding a fellow convict who died. They returned to Salem last night, held up two men, stole their clothes and a team, and fled into the hills. Bloodhounds from Walla Walla are on the trail, with a large posse armed with Winchesters. The two are desperate and likely to fight to the death.
