Edward Zeuske Killed in Weston Runaway Accident

Edward Zeuske, 28, only son of Mr. and Mrs. A Zeuske, a North Cold Springs resident and native of Umatilla County, died instantly when a wagon brake failed on Weston mountain grade. He was with his brother-in-law William Brown hauling wood to prepare for winter. He jumped to avoid the runaway, was saved by landing under a horse which fell and crushed his skull. He leaves a wife and one child, four sisters, and concerned parents who traveled to Weston. Funeral plans were not set.

Small cloud burst on Bear Creek washes gardens

A noon cloud burst on Bear Creek south of Piot Trock washed out several gardens but caused no other damage. Local residents report minor flooding and soil erosion around properties along the creek. Emergency crews were dispatched to assess damaged plots and secure affected areas.

Disaster at Roccapietra Station Claims Dozens Injured

A pilgrim passenger train collided with a fast freight at Roccapietra station. Fourteen people were killed and sixty injured, with many expected to die. Three coaches telescoped. occupants killed or injured, many pinned in debris as fire briefly broke out and was extinguished.

Weather Damage Report Near Pilot Rock Ranches

Dens along the creek were partly washed out at the Morgan Edward ranch and damage occurred at the Owens place. The Pilot Rock telephone manager reported no additional ranch damage and no serious impact. By 2 PM the cloud burst had not reached Pilot Rock and Birch Creek was not expected to be affected. Bear Creek is a tributary to Birch.

Reval Russia June 0 Traffice on the Gulf of Finland halted to welcome King Dahword and the czar. Nicholas and retinue arrived in the morning. Edward joined two hours later and kissed the czar on both cheeks. They held a conference, with Nicholas set to host on the imperial yacht Standart tomorrow.

Three Tennessee survivors in critical condition today

Maze Saloon Goes Into Bankruptcy in Pendleton

Maze Saloon owners Han sen and Olsen file voluntary bankruptcy with debts totalling $4814.25. Referee Thomas FitzGerald will oversee the estate. Sandon June Russell Sage the young American actor who left Wall street for the stage will marry Miss Pauline Weston tomorrow in Charleston. Miss Weston, daughter of the late John L. Norfolk to Try Torpedo Sinking of Florida Monitor

In Hampton Roads tomorrow the Florida will be torpedoed with a Whitehead device after turret damage on May 27 by the Arkansas.
