The incident occurred in his room at the New York Jab House Site yesterday when a revolver was fired. He died at 7 30 A M the following morning after regaining semi consciousness. He had been worrying lately and was known to be troubled.
New York reports that Harry C Pulliam president of the National Baseball League died at 7 20 am from a self inflicted pistol wound in his room at the New York Athletic Club. He was described as the most prominent baseball official in years and had been unusually nervous.
In a club room the right temple of Mr. Pulliam was struck by one gunshot. He survived moments, but doctors feared for his life as coroner Dr. Shrady and Dr. Higgins attended. The motive remained unclear as Pulliam answered incoherently and asked, Who's shot?
New York reports a man died by his own hand attributed to overwork after trouble in the national league last year. He had recently returned from months of vacation, appeared morose, and suffered bouts of despondency.
