Hugh G Walker Dies After Long Illness in Weston
Hugh G Walker brother of County Commissioner Horace Walker died at his Weston home after a four year tuberculosis illness. Born October 7, 1860 in Collingwood Canada he came to the U S in 1877 living near Helix most his life. He owned a farm near Helix and was married to Minnie Greer in 1899. Survived by his wife and eight siblings with services in Weston planned.

Ferguson is Home as Deputy Prosecution Returns
J Ferguson arrived back in Pendleton from California last evening restoring the county’s deputy prosecutor post. He had travelled to Redding California on timber land business then to San Francisco and Portland. While in Astoria he heard of the sudden disappearance of W C E Pruitt who had been handling district attorney duties and Ferguson came straight to Pendleton. He has no explanation for Pruitt’s absence and remains puzzled.

Three Men Attempted Robbery At Horseshoe Restaurant
