Deputy County Clerk FR T Brown reports semi annual financial condition for Watilla County July shows debt decreasing. State tax up 20000 and high road bridge costs offset by no bonded indebtedness. Warrants total 103476 with 40000 remaining after calls. 6 percent rate still paid as law allows five percent has not been adopted yet.
A solitary typhoid case remains at St Anthony's hospital, imported from outside the city, contrasting with last year when the hospital was crowded with typhoid patients all summer.

Miss Alta Bartley daughter of John Bartley died at her home on West Court street in the early afternoon. The death was due to consumption. She was 26 years old and had lived in the Piloc Rock country before the family moved to Pendleton about a year ago.
Salem July 26 Special says the state railroad commission received notice from O R & N General Manager O'Brien of plans to boost main line and Heppner Condon branch passenger service from Pendleton west. A clean coach will be added to No 1 at Pendleton to handle westbound locals and arrangements similar for No 6 if feasible. Heppner branch trains will be held one and a half hours for No 1 when boarding branch riders, with Heppner Junction transfers to Arlington on late No 1 arrivals. The changes aim to ease patron complaints before the commission.
Remus Curzon, son of a Methodist minister in Wapella Illinois, died after a Saturday stabbing in DeWitt County. He made his funeral arrangements and named pallbearers before passing. James Carr is jailed on suspicion of intent to kill as the county reels from ongoing MeGID, Warner, and Brell cases.
