Teutons are reported to have been ousted from recently occupied positions in northern woods near Tonducval as French forces counterattacked. Dispatches say German patrols were forced back, French artillery and infantry engaged in heavy fighting, with mutual casualties and no clear breakthrough for either side in the contested sector.
In Palatino on July 21, reports say the Deutwoohlion remains anchored off Ampeternum. A merchantman was sighted nearby during the night, causing concern aboard the unnamed submarine. Captain Koenig seeks to begin operations despite a storm to counter blockading fleet tents.
