Pendleton Common Council on July 18 1910 adopted plans for a sewer system and invites bids for furnishing all material and labor, pipes included, or material excluding pipes, with bids due to the City Recorder by July 27 1910. A 5 percent certified check payable to the Mayor accompanies each bid. Council may reject any or all bids. City Recorder THOS FITZGERALD notes the date.
The County Court of Umatilla will receive sealed bids for 80 cords of red fir timber cut from green timber to be delivered at the courthouse yard on or before November 1 1910. Bids must be filed with the County Clerk by 19 oclock August 4 1910 and accompanied by a five percent check. The court reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Dated July 16 1910. Hermiston July 20 Saturday night a banquet was given for the Hermiston baseball team by Manager MccNaught. Present were players, Irrigation league President F A Phelps, umpires, officials, and Herald editor Reeves. Catcher H Guy Andrews left for Wasco to enter real estate field. Charles Holman bought 20 acres near Hermiston. Lee Clark and friends arrived from North Dakota to consider settling. A P Davis reclamation official visiting with favorable views of the Umatilla project.
