Rescue party brings bodies from Mount St Helena
Portland report says a rescue party in automobiles from Mount St Helena arrived with the bodies of Mr. and Mrs. Smith who perished on July 6 in the mountains. Mrs. Smith was found yesterday about 1000 feet from her husband's body found Monday. Indications were they died of exhaustion.

Villard House Fire Destroyed 20 Years Ago in Pendleton
On July 17, 1893 the Villard House, Pendleton's main hotel on Malin and Court, burned in minutes. Portland, July 17. E. E. Von Klein, accused of larceny, was identified as the man who in October 1911 registered at the Portland Hotel with Miss Ethel Newcomb as Mr and Mrs G E Lewis. He later showed stolen jewels at the hotel barbershop. Newcomb, now Mrs Von Klein, testified of the marriage in San Francisco. San Francisco minister Rev E R Ditle testified. Mrs Rena B Morrow, who posted $14,000 bonds in extradition, attended seeking his release. Also present was Mrs De Weber of Kansas City the woman of mystery pursuing Von Klein.
