Trial of Glass Io In Progress In San Francisco

San Francisco July 12. The Glass bribery trial continues with arguments over evidence on ordinances and franchise bids. Mayor Hoxton testifies recounting a $5000 payoff from Theodore Halney to sway votes against a rival Home Telephone franchise.

Mrs Annie M Bradley Moved From Jath District To Hospital

Justice Wright of the DC supreme court has ordered the removal of Mrs Annie M Bradley of Salt Lake City from the district jail to a hospital. She has been jailed since December on charges of murdering United States Senator Arthur Brown at a hotel in the city. Bradley is in poor health and surgeons say an operation is necessary. The duration of her recovery is not yet known.

Fuller is Sentenced to Ten Years in State Penitentiary

Baker City July 12 Roy Fuller convict in last April abduction abortion case was sentenced by Circuit Judge William Smith to ten years in the state penitentiary and fined 2000 with bond set at 10000. Stay of execution for 40 days granted while appeal possible. Court indicated readiness to certify probable cause for higher court review. Clyde Royse of Heppner ran amuck with a revolver threatening Deputy Mallory and Marshal Gurdane then attempted suicide after arrest.

Fire destroys Wind River mills at Cascade Locks

A major fire at the Wind River Lumber company mills in Cascade Locks caused vast damage, destroying the sawmill and planing mill, with an estimated loss around 250000 and up to 2000000 feet of lumber. The blaze delayed the Hh. and N. Portland train, severed telegraph lines, and interrupted Portland communications for hours. Manager J. H. Dunlap and A. W. Robinson commented on local lumber supply recovery. Also noted is Boise visitors Dr. Sigmund Falk and Ivo Falk touring central Oregon by auto.

Wreck near Raton Claims Two Railroad Workers

Port Townsend Wash July 12 One man was killed and two seriously injured when a cannon exploded during the governor's 17 gun salute at Fort Worden.
