Lilue Willie Fletcher a seven year old described as a rambler ran away from Birch creek last Saturday. He spent the night in a box car with a hobo and was found wandering yesterday by the sheriff's office in Pendleton. Authorities informed his parents and the Boys and Girls Aid Society. the mother escorted him back to Birch creek with a plan to return to the sheriff's office. The child previously ran away two or three times.

B F Nicholas has bought the stock of Whittinghill Mercantile Co in the St Joe Store at Court and Cottonwood streets. Transfer of property will occur in about 10 days after stock invoice. Nicholas, formerly in Colfax Washington and Boise Idaho, leased part of John Schmidt’s building at Main and Alta streets to store goods until the new building is ready. He will have a 50 foot frontage in Schmidt’s building with galleries planned. Unsold stock will move to the new location and a large selection from the Eastern market will be added. The new store is expected to be occupied about October 1.
