Yesterday youkie Waterson threatened to kill the hotel bartender, Martin interfered and Waterson shot. Time notes weeks of near insanity.

Michael Miller a laborer for Twohy Brothers was fatally injured near Coe station when a westbound freight struck him as he attempted to control a horse hitched to a wheel scraper. His horse and Miller were thrown onto the track. Miller died instantly. An inquest was held and his remains were sent to Pendleton. No identification or relatives were found.

After a series of quarrels H. M. Lambert, a 65 year old carpenter, shot his wife on Kum avenue and Sixteenth street in Portland this afternoon. He then fired two more shots into a bystander.
