A Michigan Central passenger train collided head on with a northbound extra freight near Jackson Michigan. Four bodies were recovered and a dozen passengers were seriously injured with several feared dying. Coroner orders inquest to determine responsibility. The wreck destroyed the first three cars and left two rear cars overturned in a ditch with passengers cut and bruised.
