News from Franklin County Indiana reports a railroad injunction against the Keratone Bridge Company led to clashes at the Greene River bridge. Workers tore up ties, the draw broke, plunging about twenty men into the river with five drowned and several injured.
A freight train on the Northern Pacific fell from a trestle near Hangman’s Week, sever miles from here. Ten cars dropped seventy two feet trapping a tramp who was run over. the couplings broke causing cars to spill and a person under the wreckage was killed, his body split and mangled beyond recognition.
Fragmentary wires report labor strife at a Seattle shipyard with unpaid workers.
