Death Claims Father and Son Within Hours
The bodies of William H. Lyman and Charles B. Lyman, father and son, lie side by side in the Folsom undertaking parlors. William H. Lyman, 70, died yesterday afternoon while traveling by train from Oakland to reach his dying son in this city. He suffered heart failure amid travel strain and was accompanied by his wife Mary M. Lyman. Charles B. Lyman died this morning after months of Wright’s disease at the family apartments on East Court street. He conducted the Lyman market and was a former resident of Pendleton. Both men were members of Woodmen of the World and Knights of Pythias. funeral services are set for Thursday at 2:30 PM with interment in Olney cemetery, and the elder Lyman’s body will be shipped to Springfield, Missouri for burial.

Firemen rescue over 100 girls from burning factory
In Atlanta on January 17 heroic firemen saved more than 100 girls trapped on the third floor of a shirtwaist factory as a smoke filled the building. A score of girls were overcome by smoke and officials searched the ruins for possible fatalities.
