Six violent tremors shook Linghorn Italy at 4 30 am sparking panic as thousands clad only in nightwear fled into snow covered streets. The sea churned violently with waves leaping shoreward but no casualties reported.

Houghton Michigan January 15. Thirty nine officials of the Western Federation of Miners including Charles Mover were indicted by the grand jury for conspiracy in the Michigan copper strike. General Villa declares he will march on the capital after capturing Ojinaga with his rebel army. The convention will also seek additional funds for the state road fund by a bond issue or direct levy. More than 1000 delegates attend.
The city council appointed Valentine Stroble to the water commission to fill the vacancy from G I La Dow’s resignation. No report was made on a petition for further investigation of the gravity system. Old cemetery plans were discussed and a street improvement bid awarded to Warren Construction Co for Bush street.
