Pendleton mail to Holdman new office 22 miles NW opened last June. Mail leaving days changed from Tuesday to Monday and Friday. Tenders due February 3 for a March 3 start. Carrier leaves Holdman 6 AM and Pendleton 1 PM. Proposals filed at Pendleton Post Office for transmission. Information available there.

Better Prices Now Raising Horses on the Umatilla Ranges
The Pendleton report notes a three year turn in Oregon range horse fortunes with prices rising from $2.50 to higher values as ranges in Umatilla Morrow and Grant counties shift away from poor stock to better horses. An army inspector will buy 242 geldings in Pendleton January 14, aiding range clearing.
