Portland spent for government in 1000, $88,000 more than her receipts from all sources. A mass meeting in Gilliam county discussed forming a railroad at Condon to serve the Columbia river area. The U S district court in Helena tries Aaron Hirchfield on false entries and embezzlement against the State National Bank in Miles City.
An advertisement extols Dr Pierce’s Golden Medical Discovery as a cure for coughs and bronchial issues, claiming it clears bleeding and lingering conditions risking consumption. It stresses lack of alcohol opiates or narcotics and urges readers to accept no substitute, offering a medical adviser with 1008 pages for purchase.
Oregon legislators assemble in Salem with McBride supporters aiming to block a senatorial caucus.
