Pendleton court approves a reduced levy, saving nearly 13,000 for property owners. The county keeps or increases road and school levies, with per capita school funding set at 11 dollars next year, subject to property values and district decisions.
Pendleton city property is exempt from a county road tax levy this year as judges rule the city’s charter prevents the county from taxing city land for road purposes. An extra half mill for county taxes is rejected to avoid double taxation on city properties and burdens on farmers, with officials noting crop failures in southern areas.

Five men named Harry Brennan Frank Day Gus White Fred Harding Milton Reinhberg face grand jury indictments on larceny of a horse forgery and uttering forged notes.
