Hog Market at 8 Dollars Firm in Portland
A heavy hog run in North Portland yards during the holiday week produced firm demand with eight dollars paid early for top offerings. Despite strength, local prices lagged 10 to 15 cents behind eastern markets, which have been rising. Cattle receipts were light, with only two loads reported and a slow start to trading.

The city marshal of Pendleton takes up several unclaimed animals including a bay gelding a bay mare a black mare a grey mare a bay yearling a cream colchor? and a sucking colt. If not claimed within ten days costs will be paid and at 2 pm January 15 1914 the animals will be sold at public auction for cash at the city pound 400 West Webb Street Pendleton proceeds to cover sale costs.
