Virginia City Nev January 2. Colonel E D Boyle and William McQuarrie rode from the Como mine when their team ran away on Harrow road. McQuarrie was killed and Boyle was probably fatally injured. Boyle, a prominent mining man, survived the wreck with grave injuries.
London sources report that the unidentified man who contributed 1,000,000 dollars for a consumptives sanitarium is Sir Ernest Cassel a leading London merchant prince.
A London rumor that Lord Milner was attacked by a would be assassin is proved unfounded. A foreign office communication from Milner today contains no reference to any such attempt.
