Adams Fire Destroys Elevator in Adams Oregon
A fire starting about 10:00 last night destroyed the Pacific Canal Elevator building in Adams, with smoke and water damaging wheat stored in a nearby warehouse owned by John Bannister. The unused structure, valued around $2000, had no insurance and is thought to have been started by a tramp sleeping in the building. volunteer firemen confined the blaze to the elevator and minimally damaged the adjoining Pueblo Coast Elevator warehouse, which housed about LOT sacks of Bannister’s wheat and suffered about 10 percent damage.

Hired man commits suicide on Johnson ranch near Silver Lake
A hired hand employed by William Johnson shot himself last Thursday, sitting on the bed edge with an old caliber rifle against his forehead. Found hours later, the room showed a bloody scene with brains on four walls. He had worked on the Johnson ranch after leaving Prineville, and his name was not learned.
