Mexico City reports predict execution of President Madero could trigger a new revolt in Sonora and Chihuahua within thirty days. Adherents telegram governors to muster volunteers if Madero is killed, while Huerta blocks departures to Vera Cruz and loyal garrisons hold.
In London on February 20 suffragettes set fire to the pavilion and restaurant at the Kew Palace botanical gardens. Lillian Lenton and Joyce Locke were captured while carrying paraphernalia for arson. Both jailed without bail as magistrates rebuked the acts and a hunger strike loomed. Mrs. Drummond, a militant leader, praised the vandalism.
New York February 20. District Attorney Whitman disclosed more figures on police graft from saloon and hotel keepers. Salem Ore Feb 20 Special The Lawrence eight hour bill for women workers failed to pass the senate as the motion to indefinitely postpone it won. The Perkins senate bill regulating dental practice passed the house with two amendments. One lets a license-cancelled dentist appeal to the supreme court, the other blocks a board member from hearing a case if he informed against the dentist. House leaders plan adjournment for weekend then resume Monday for another week. The Westerlund resolution for forty actual working days will be called up and passed.
In Walla Walla Washington on February 20 a man asked the O W R & N ticket office for the fare to Weatherby Oregon. The clerk quoted six dollars and twenty five cents. The man paid the amount but refused to take the ticket saying he rode for free years ago and would not give his name.
Olympia report states Jesse B. Hapenstall asks the senate for a $56 appropriation dating to 1856 after claiming he served in the volunteer cavalry and an Indian stole his saddle and killed his horse. He seeks repayment of his riding habit investment, not the horse, with the adjutant general listing the claim as one horse valued at $300.
Washington Feb 20 Representative Burleson, chair of the Democratic caucus, called a caucus of the incoming house for noon March 6 to name the Democratic members of the Ways and Means Committee of the 63d Congress and to consider tariff bills.
Following a luncheon at the Deer Park hotel the suffragists army started for Elkton Maryland today in a determined march for voting rights. The contingent gathered in Wilmington Delaware and set forth with banners and resolute voices signaling continued campaign activity.
Charleston West Virginia February 20. In cindiaries fired the house occupied by Major J B Payne of the West Virginia national guard on duty in the martial law zone at Dakota near Paint Creek. Major and Mrs Payne escaped death. Two adjacent houses were burned.

Wesley Peters, deaf and dumb, reports a robbery last night at his home near the city pumping plant as unknown hoboes broke in through a screen while he and his brother were away. They stole an overcoat, shoes, two shirts, a trout book, groceries, and bed clothing. John Peters and Sheriff Taylor searched the country but found no suspects.

A United Press report from Mexico City recounts explosive fighting ending Tuesday, with heavy destruction across the capital. The death toll is estimated at 2500 soldiers and 2000 noncombatants, around four thousand soldiers and three thousand civilians wounded, as crowds faced machine gun fire in the Zocalo and Plaza.

Harrisburg February 20 seven children of George Smith were cremated in their burning home last night ages ranged from one to twelve. An overturned lamp is believed the cause. The father and mother were at church and had locked the children in.
Washington report says Lewis and Jennie Watt, both in tuberculosis last stages, were found with throats cut. Authorities believe Watt killed himself first and his wife ended her misery. The tragedy follows a suicide pact amid illness and despair.
Portland, Feb 20. A loaded .44 caliber revolver was found in parcels post and confiscated by Post Office Inspector Durand. A clerk spotted the barrel protruding from a package and, upon inspection, saw it was loaded with 44 caliber cartridges and ready to fire. A hammer tap could have fired it.
Seattle plans announce a forthcoming civil suit to dissolve American Telephone and Telegraph for Sherman Act violations. Federal grand jury is reviewing the case and possible criminal actions against company officials may follow, with District Attorney McCourt set to prosecute.
