Funeral of Civil War veteran held in Pendleton

The funeral of Allen Rhodes who died yesterday at his Pendleton home was held today from Brown's chapel. A longtime resident of Umatilla County he moved from Colorado in 1882 and later farmed near Pendleton. A Civil War veteran and G A R member, he died at nearly 77 with wife Mattie Blackburn Rhodes surviving along with numerous children.
