In Biloxi a tense two hour confrontation unfolded as armed individuals with rifle and revolver resisted a United States revenue raid on a moonabine still. No further details available.
In Ureene County a woman, called a "half wild mountain girl" by revenue officers, defended a mountain still from J A Tucci and four deputies firing no shots as ammunition exhausted. She was captured with her father Bille Goins and brother W A Goins after a brief confrontation. mother and another brother escaped. Proceedings indicate the matter will move to a committee for resolution.
Mr Fred Ward is out of the firm and Mr J B Allen will conduct the business. Allen Ward Co dated January 27 1917. Also Model Tailors and Cleaness dissolves as of February 1 1917 with L D Shanafelt and H T Lester continuing in Pendleton Oregon to collect receivables and pay debts.
