Poultry quotations ease while demand for ducks from China declines. Cattle and hogs move on contract to local packer with supplies limited. official Portland trades show slight price stability in steers cows and calves. Wheat prices diverge with regional markets showing slight gains and losses across world markets.

In Salem Oregon on February 3 the senate railroad committee, by a unanimous vote of the four present, approved the Malarkey idea of a state wide commission regulating public service corporations. The meeting noted Kellaher’s absence and disapproval of the plan. Malarkey, Bean, Patton, and Burgess formed the voting unit. The panel rejected a Trepresentative Fouts proposal allowing city secession from the state idea.
Salem Oregon February 3 Multnomah County will gain seven state senators for the next decade and share a joint senator with Clackamas, totaling 17 representatives plus a joint seat. The reapportionment plan, still debated, leaves Multnomah with one more senator and five representatives, though full population parity would give 10 senators and 20 representatives.
