New York on February 2 reports Henry Clay Meters an alderman was arrested on perjury charges tied to the Clifford case. Peters and Alderman John J Cronin were also arrested for perjury in the same matter. A haul of 6000 in marked bills was reportedly involved. Clifford, ill and in custody, posted ten thousand dollars bail. Clifford reportedly may become a state witness against Peters and Cronin.
