Samuel Drumheller president of the Washington Oregon company told a city meeting of the traction fund committee that time extension will aid the campaign. W N Thompson of the American National Bank attended. Officials plan to enlarge the committee tonight and begin a citywide canvass to secure more workers and funds.
In Bellingham Washington on February 1 Sheriff Stevenson of Skagit county, aided by a pack of hounds, hunted for the supposed murderers of Amos Johnson, an aged resident of Guemes Island near Anacortes who disappeared under circumspect circumstances. The old man, said to be worth eighty thousand dollars, is believed to have hidden wealth in his house. A neighbor who visited to borrow farm equipment found the estate undisturbed and suggests he did not intend to leave.
