Chicago reporters note a 24 hour police roundup arresting 100 felons including 36 known burglars andOutcome unclear after a mass arrest. Half of those identified. Authorities blame mingling of unemployed ex-convicts for rising crime and have issued an order to clean up the city.
Former Judge J W Robinson is suspended from practicing law in Washington for six months by the state Supreme Court. The action follows charges in a Sullivan will case brief alleging criticism of the court’s integrity. Justice Crow of Spokane wrote the decision, concurred by all justices. offensive phrasing was struck from the brief and the costs of the attorney general’s brief were confessed against Robinson.
Spokane reports a major Rabbit drive planned for January 16 at Wide Hollow west of Spokane. Ranchers and orchardists lure hunters from across the state to exterminate thousands of jacks damaging apple trees. Three mounted groups start Tamplco Nob Hill and Cowlche converge in Coowilche canyon for the hunt. The last drive was years ago and jack populations have greatly increased.

Wheeling, W Va Dec 30 Ed ward Hutchinson of the Baltimore and Ohio operation at Welcome is believed to have been murdered early today and his body burned in the station. No trace of the money or tickets can be found.
Rev Jere Knode Cook a Yale graduate and former pastor of St George Church Hampstead Long Island fled with Miss Whaley an heiress after she eloped with him. A warrant for his arrest on abduction was sworn by the aunt. The couple has a child and lived in various cities including Los Angeles and San Francisco. They were said to be traveling in Europe.
Martin W. Littleton, Thaw's chief counsel, says the defense will rely on temporary insanity with a new line of testimony. He will be assisted by A Averell Peabody and Daniel O'Reilly as the second Thaw trial approaches.
