Mail volume shows Pendleton Post Office growth in 1905
Postmaster Livermore reports an 11 percent rise in registered mail over the last six months of 1905 compared with 1904, with a total of about 2,000 registered packages expected for the year. Despite holiday staffing, the regular force handled the peak mail with added help financed by the government. Much of the heavy output went to foreign destinations as Pendleton souvenirs promote Umatilla county. The Christmas trade was notably brisk.
