Amend the Irrigation Act under review in Senate
A historic rail of 1903 era debate centers on two proposed amendments to the irrigation act. One would require a direct congressional appropriation for each irrigation project before work starts, potentially delaying projects. the second would raise the director of the geological survey salary from 6000 to 10000 dollars per year. Strong objections have surfaced as eastern Oregon counties anticipate reclamation work.
