Athens mill to provide light and power under 25 year deal
D H Preston manager confirms Preston Parton Milling Co will furnish electric power for the new 60 foot high four story mill with 600 capacity daily. Power will also supply Athens and Weston, using own poles and lines from Washington & Oregon Power Co. mill has 260 horsepower requirements and 90,000 bushels wheat on hand with 300,000 committed for delivery.
