President Wilson plans a speaking tour on the peace treaty as soon as travel arrangements are set. White House notes say progress on the Mexican issue and averted railroad strike reduce living costs, boosting support for the treaty in the Senate and encouraging a prompt start to the tour.
The Round-Up organizers confirm a special Heppner branch train for the final two days. About 200 tickets ordered for riders from Heppner lone Lexington and nearby points will join the show with 160 tickets just issued. Tickets include seat and grandstand access, with reservations tied to railroad passes for Friday and Saturday.
A Field Day at Hermiston Experiment Station on September 27 will feature an address by Colonel Emmett Cal lahan former lawyer of Boardman, a talk by farm experts from A C, a picnic lunch, juvenile band music and vocal numbers. The program includes station work inspections and practical farm demonstrations. Arrangements were finalized at a Hermiston meeting with committees from the Commercial club and local farmers meeting county agents Fred Hennion and Vila May Harmon who will lead male and female demonstrations respectively.

County Clerk Brown received a supply of Oregon laws pamphlets from the secretary of state. The books will be issued to applicants and mailed within the county upon request to Mr. Brown.

The committee desires two more houses and has received many offers for rooms, with local calls for parking and traffic restrictions around the grounds.
Brainerd Minnesota details a confusing report at Plum Lake where no fire department was available. An unclear account mentions Harl Sloniena and a damaged route wire as a driver, with no fire response and no clear reason given.

The famed Sixth Engineers who built bridges over waterways the allied armies crossed after the German retreat arrived today on the transport Manchuria. This unit of 2499 men had little rest from April 1918 until the armistice and suffered nearly 1000 casualties before marching into Germany last October.
Edward Ricketts, 24, an electrician at 439 North Grand Ave, shot at a stray black cat in a yard behind his employer's plant yesterday. A 13 year old boy, Charles Hughes of 2408 Fair Ave, was struck in the right leg by a bullet. Ricketts was arrested on a firearms discharge charge after the accident and said he would quit shooting at black cats.
