Death of Frank Clopton in Pendleton after long illness
Frank B Clopton died at 2 pm today at his home on the north side of the river in Pendleton after a protracted illness. He was born December 2 1869 in Lynchburg Virginia and came to Umatilla Landing in the Seventies, later moving to Pendleton in 1882. He served as postmaster and held various local offices, was a member of the Masons, Knights of Pythias, and the city council. Funeral services are set for 4 pm Monday at the family home corner Monroe and Washington streets. He was survived by a wife and one child.
