Spokane reports J Glasby, his wife Nina 14, and the party wandered in desert near Plush Oregon for two days without food or water. The team exhausted they unhitched the wagon and rode out. The woman and child fainted before Glasby found a ranch and a rescue party organized. All are recovering.

In Grand Rapids Michigan on August 19 two men died and four were injured when a locomotive boiler crown blew out. Engineer Bradly and fireman Frederick Graves were killed instantly.
