Liverpool faces a severe famine as the dock workers strike halts traffic and food supply. Antrim and other warships guard the harbor while 5,000 troops encamp outside the city. Government plans to feed crews to unload ships amid protests and widespread hunger.
At the Sin Preteleco convention in Indianapolis the majority opposed moving the union headquarters to Washington. President Lynch led the regulars in defeating a proposal to bar use of the old age pension fund for any purpose beyond its creation.
