Baker Woman and Child Injured in Auto Crash
A Baker area auto driven by Carl Powell plunged off a steep grade between Kade ranch and Ryeville, injuring Mrs Powell with a seven month old, who was saved by being tossed into willows. The husband sustained minor injuries. both were taken to Baker hospital. The car overturned, top damaged. Arthur Cartwright and a Henry Knighting’s son escaped unharmed. Carl Powell uninjured.

OCHICO IRRIGATION BONDS ARE APPROVED The state irrigation securities commission on Tuesday afternoon approved the sale of 900,000 in bonds by the Ochoco irrigation district in Crook county. The commission found the project feasible and backed by sufficient value to warrant the bond issue, suitable for investment of trust funds. The district covers 25,060 acres aiming to irrigate 22,000 acres mainly by direct flow with overflow from Ochoco creek, planning a 2k foot dam near Prineville to store 47,000 acre feet of water. About 7,000 acres are now partially irrigated.
