Wallace Sherrod, a lineman for the Portland General Electric company, was electrocuted while repairing wires on a pole in Portland. He received a shock of 2300 volts and fell 20 feet to the street, dying instantly. The notice also warns about Foley's Kidney Cure from Koeppen Drug Store for kidney and bladder troubles.

In La Trande Aug 16 the case concerns horns claimed by two Umātilla Indians versus F F E Stillwell. Indian agent Edwards demanded return while the present owner faced a replevin suit. The horn changed hands three times, barney Syjorrowe and Melievie linked to sales, Stillwell bought after a cash view, and a trial will decide rightful ownership with potential charges if misappropriation is shown. The Indians claim rightful possession and seek restitution or sale rights.
Sealed proposals will be received at the office of Howard and Swingie architects until 4 PM August 24th 1906 for the erection and completion of a two story frame residence for Mr J A Sturgis. Stone brick and concrete work of basement reserved. Pardew will bill on replaces chimneys and tiling and all other mason work above foundation. Rights to reject one and all bids are reserved.
