Fire destroyed the Shultz ice plant and bottling works on Willow Street between Railroad, with city water crews unable to stop the blaze. Loss estimated at 20 000 dollars, insured at about four thousand. Firefighters saved nearby structures but the roundhouse and adjoining buildings were threatened until late efforts contained the blaze.

To Command Cruiser Atlanta, New York, Aug. 9. Commander W. H. Turner of the United States navy sailed today for South America to assume command of the cruiser Atlanta of the South Atlantic squadron. A basement find of Mrs Bartholin’s body was reported but not confirmed and later dismissed as nonhuman by police.
