Remodeling boom shifts city housing approach demand for old homes rises
The city records a growing trend toward remodeling old dwellings into modern homes as costs push buyers toward purchasing and repairing existing houses. Examples include 419 Jackson Street renovated by L Coldsworthy with Dunhow Brownlow and Payne as contractors, and a new home for J N Burgess near Pilot Rock with plans by G P Wright. An addition to a north side residence at Martin and Jefferson is planned by David Hill, a Swik Chalet style house built in the works.
