Jonathan Quick, a former Pendleton resident and father of Mrs. Mary Harvey and Miss Flora Quick, was killed at Bandon beach by 11 year old Perrine boy Victor Perrine from Roseburg. Quick had lived in Coquille since leaving Pendleton three to four years ago. The Perrine family were camping at the same site, and no witness saw the shooting. The boy reported the incident after the event, and his parents left the camp in charge while they walked.
