Canada to feed England in five years says Perley
Senator Perley, a pioneer Canadian farmer, refines earlier forecast to five years for Canada to produce enough wheat to feed the United Kingdom. He notes Britain buys about 60,000,000 hundredweight of wheat and 20,000,000 hundredweight of flour annually. The Canadian mission shows exports of 21,754,809 pounds of home-grown wheat and 2,744,158 pounds of wheat flour to Britain in the nine months to March 21, with British stats indicating less wheat received from Canada.

Million-dollar bid risk in Blue Mountain reserve land scheme
Speculators failed in an effort to exploit school lands within the Blue Mountain reserve, a move that could have netted over a million for the state school fund. The plan hinged on public lands being used as base for purchases before a final government decision to create the reserve. Legislative action may be required to permit reclaiming payments and returning lands to the state owner. In Oregon, Miss Lydian Potter was injured in a horse accident near Eugene, left unconscious with a fractured skull and arm.
