W. W. Stevens of Washoe county Nevada was shot and killed by Chellina Bowen in a San Francisco hotel. Stevens attempted to force into a room where Bowen and Stevenson's wife, who had begun living with Bowen two weeks earlier, occupied. The wife 25 perceived as witness to the tragedy.
Attorneys for Moses Taylor filed a motion for a new trial at 4 p.m. before Judge Ellis. The ruling was expected today, and the sentence remains pending until next Monday.
