The Portland Automobile Club aims to finish a Portland to Seaside highway by July with Astoria chamber of commerce and Columbia county backing. The route runs Linnton along the Willamette to Vesper then inland to Jewell before Astoria and Seaside. Costing about 1000 dollars per mile, one third funded by the club and two thirds by Columbia county.
