Pendleton Eyes Public Parks Plan to Create Park Commission
Pendleton moves toward one or two new public parks with a park commission to oversee development. The academy campus on East Web Street will become a park this summer, with efforts also focused on converting the deserted North Pendleton cemetery into a park. The Woman's Library and Civic association, led by Mrs. Foeng, spearheads negotiations with the school board and cemetery trustees to secure grounds, clear debris, plant trees, and install benches.
