Newark April 23 Tens of fire fighters and citizens were killed or injured when a tank of naphtha ignited at the Weiner Company Cassady hardware works. Four men died Jacob Bleyhis Patrick Donahue William Crane Leo Ross while two firemen and two civilians perished. The blast toppled walls and crushed machines as flames and panic swept the street. The building loss is about 50600 and ruined machinery costs the city at least 9000.

Fifty head of dairy cattle belonging to Edwin Woody sold at public sale in the afternoon at the Dutch Henry feed yard by Sheriff Taylor. The cattle brought 1040 dollars and were bid in by RK Stewart of Athena.
Members of Umatilla Tent No 27 of the Kolgbie of the Macdaleon surprised the ladies of Juno Hive No , during a meeting. The visitors brought refreshments and presented the surprise, which was complete and well received.
The Secretary of the Interior approved 2.6 million dollars for a Minidoka Idaho reclamation project to irrigation 360,000 acres of desert land east of the Snake River. Water will be pumped 20 to 40 feet from the river into a central canal system, with Minidoka as the gateway to Southern Idaho.
O W Tinby traveled to Athens to attend the funeral of Frank Beal a well known resident who suffered from dropsy due to inflammatory rheumatism. Beal, a popular young man with good business ties, was laid to rest at Alben cemetery after services in Athens this afternoon. Janes M Kramer and Miss Frankie Thrasher of this city were married at the Stolle Kean residence this morning with Rev M V Howard officiating and will reside on Milwit street.
