City Hall Construction Nears January Occupancy
Excavation began today for the new city hall designed by T. F. Howard and built by Gibson & Cole. The 72 by 28 foot Cottonwood and Alta frontage will include a basement with a women’s rest room and storage, a two story interior, and a council chamber on the second floor. The contract bid was 34,920 with excavating handled at 30 cents per cubic foot by Sam Hastings. Actual completion target is January 1, 2000, with occupancy expected by January 1.
