Five men named Carl Palmer Russell Smith Albert Crawford Fred Smith and Vern Beard face true bills for robbery. Palmer and Smith were arrested in Pendleton by Sheriff Taylor. Crawford Fred Smith and Beard were captured by a freight train conductor and held in the caboose before being taken to Pendleton. The cases were announced by the grand jury this afternoon. additional prosecutions in the liquor investigation are pending after these matters are resolved.

Elmer Gordon 19 Found Wandering Near Helix
Relatives of Elmer Gordon a 40 year old grain grower from near Helix feared for his safety yesterday after he disappeared from St. Anthony's hospital. He wandered toward home and was found aboard a Northern Pacific train near Helix. Conductor Bertholet notified the sheriff, and Gordon was taken home by Mr. Ferguson. He had recently attempted suicide.

Japanese Mission Worker Engaged to Minister in Los Angeles
In Los Angeles on April 13 reports say Kate Goodman prominent city mission worker will marry Rev. Joseph Kenichi Inazawa minister of the Presbyterian Japanese mission. Broke Seattle Broker Jumps His Marriage Plans

John H. French Dies at Vinson in Umatilla County
John H. French longtime Umatilla County resident died at home last night at about seventy, exact age undeclared. Born in Missouri he moved to Oregon forty years ago and farmed stock in the southern part of the county. Mrs William Zerung formerly Miss Minnetta Gavette died at her Portland home a few days ago news reaching Pendleton friends. Chinese Petition Against Fulton Reported Dropped
Efforts by a few Chinatown residents to discredit ex Senator Fulton as Minister to China are said to be abandoned.
