On Monday Win Gibson bought a fine Loy alfalfa-fed cattle in Butter Creek country, paying about 205 10 per head with three stockmen from Saylor, Stanfield, and Semmes Moore. The Saylor lot averaged around 1400 dollars, with the other two close in value as top lots in the sale.

Funeral for Captain Bean Held. Maine War Veteran
The funeral for Captain Timothy Bean, father of County Judge John Bean and District Attorney Henry Bean, was held at 2 PM led by Rev. J K Buchanan. The procession was buried in Olney cemetery. A Modoc War veteran, he later moved to Oregon after farming and trading stock and wool in Maine.
