London April 8 famed Liberal leader in the House of Lords John Wodehouse first Earl of Kimberly died after a long illness at age 74. Born January 7 1826 he held posts including lord lieutenant of Ireland 1864 66 colonial secretary for India 1882 85 lord president of the council and secretary of state 1892 and foreign affairs secretary under Lord Rosebery in 1894.
